Paul Lyngdoh Faces Backlash from Tourist Taxi Association Leader for Changing Stance

HEADLINES

The President of the All Khasi Meghalaya Tourist Taxi Association (AKMTTA), Ricaldinus Dohling, has sharply criticized the Tourism Minister, Paul Lyngdoh. Dohling accused Paul of changing his stance and becoming a “traitor” rather than the leader he once was.

This statement from the AKMTTA President comes after the government has not responded to calls for discussions, even after the association organized a black flag protest on September 9. The protest aimed to demand that the government implement stricter laws to regulate tourist taxis from outside the state from operating freely in local tourist spots.

Today, on Saturday, September 14, which marks the last day of the black flag protest, Ricaldinus announced that on the 18th of this month, the association will hold a public rally at Malki Ground, Shillong. The rally aims to intensify their demands to the government, with groups from all districts expected to participate.
