The Shillong Manipuri Students Union organised a candlelight vigil on Sunday to express solidarity and grief over the killing of two young children in a recent bomb blast in Manipur.
Members of the Meghalaya Manipur Women’s Union also joined the programme, strongly condemning the incident. A one-minute silence was observed in memory of the victims.
Leaders of the union, including General Secretary Lamyanba and Advisor Birohini, demanded justice for the victims, stating that those responsible must be held accountable.
The tragic incident in Manipur involved a rocket attack on a residential house, which claimed the lives of two children aged five years and five months, while their mother sustained serious injuries.
The vigil highlighted growing concern and anguish over the violence, with participants calling for peace and justice.
