SHILLONG, December 18: It is after several years of hopeful expectations that finally a health care facility for cattle and animals in Laitlyngkot area and nearby villages have finally come true with the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary of Meghalaya on the 17th of December,2021 inaugurating the State Veterinary Dispensary at Madanglyngkhi- Nonglum, Elaka Laitlyngkot which will now begin to function fully.
The Dispensary has been sanctioned by the RIBD-XVI through the NABARD Loan at about more than 52 lakhs constructed in the year 2010-2011 as an upgrade from a Stockman Centre which had been present from the year 1976-77. The construction was completed in the year 2012.
The Dispensary was inaugurated by the MLA of Sohra, Having M.Mylliem in the presence of Ryngkat Lyndem,MDC of Laitkroh-Lyngkyrdem Constituency, Dr.K.B.Sahkhar, Director of the Department of AH& Veterinary, Present Tynsong, BDO of Khararshnong-Laitkroh, Allenson Shabong, Sordar Elaka Laitlyngkot, Riverstone Majaw, Rangbah Shnong of Madanglyngkhi-Nonglum,officers of the department and many more.
Gavin M.Mylliem also informed that the internal road connecting Laitlyngkot to Kyrdemkla,Elaka Laitkroh through Madanlynkhi-Nonglum will be upgraded to a tar road soon.
