Shillong, August 27, 2024 – Mylliem MLA Ronnie V Lyngdoh has resigned from his position as Leader of the Opposition in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly. The Speaker has accepted his resignation, effective from today.
Ronnie’s resignation follows his isolation as the sole Congress MLA in the Assembly after three of his colleagues defected to join the NPP. The current opposition now consists of 10 MLAs: 5 from AITC, 4 from VPP, and 1 from Congress.
