A youth from Nongstoin area known as Macmillan Kharbani who had been a strong supporter of the NPP in 2018 has exited the NPP. This was ascertained through a public meeting which was held yesterday at the village ground of Tiehsaw, Nongstoin,West Khasi Hills District.
The news about Kharbani contesting the elections has been going around but this time after he joined the new political party in Meghalaya, he was chosen as the President of the Nongstoin Block Trinamool Congress and at the same time also as the MLA candidate of the TMC from Nongstoin constituency who will contest in the upcoming election in 2023 even though it has not been officially announced by the party.
On the same day were also present, Fernandez Dkhar who is the President of the Meghalaya Pradesh Trinamool Youth Congress and MLA candidate of the TMC from Rambrai-Jyrngam constituency, George B.Lyngdoh, MLA, Charles Pyngrope, President of the Meghalaya Pradesh Trinamool Congress, other senior members of the area and the meeting was conducted by Manik Singh Kharbani.
Prior to the meeting being held, the party also inaugurated the party office of the All-India Trinamool Congress situated in Nondeiñ in which Dr.Mukul Sangma, former Chief Minister of Meghalaya also cut the ribbon as a mark to inaugurate the office in the company also of other office bearers of the party including women amongst others.
