Shillong, September 26: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Kongkal Sangma said that employing the contractual teachers who are in the midst of agitation now at present is difficult, however, if there is a way to help them as per rules, the Government will scrutinize it, but to simply to re-employ them now is not possible.
He said that from the start the contractual teachers sign a contract of 58 days and renewed every time, therefore the Government had to choose and employ full-time teachers, and many of the contractual teachers applied and were given full-time employees, however, there were those who had already crossed the age limit and could no longer apply for the full time teaching jobs.
