SHILLONG, September 07: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) yesterday filed a chargesheet at the NIA special against 4 leaders of the Hynñiewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) for the placement and blast of an IED bomb at the staff quarters of Star Cement in East Jaiñtia Hills District.
This case was registered as an FIR at Lumshnong Police Station on the 13th of December 2020 and registered again by the NIA on the 15th of March 2021.
The investigation found that the bomb blast was planned by the veterans of the HNLC because the owner of Star Cement refused to pay the tax money demanded by Marius Rynjah alias Hep Khoit who is also the SS Finance cum Socio Cultural Secretary of the HNLC.
The HNLC is a banned outfit as per the AU(P) Act, 1967.
The 4 leaders of the HNLC that have been mentioned by their aliases in the chargesheet are the Chairman cum Commander-in-Chief, Bobby Marweiñ alias Regan Marweiñ or Wanbor Khardewsaw or Lung or William, General Secretary cum Publicity Secretary, Sainkupar Nongtraw alias Deng Deng or Wadborlang Nongrum or Wadkupar Nongrum or Rocky Nongrum, Emmanuel Suchen alias Shwa and Marius Rynjah alias Hep Khoit.
The investigation on this case is ongoing.
