It’s seems that Dr Mukul wanted to contest elections from Assam, says Prestone

‘They know only to say that Prestone and Conrad have sold off the State’

SHILLONG, July 28: The Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Prestone Tynsong has strongly rebuked the TMC MLAs from Meghalaya for staging a demonstration in Delhi to demand the rejection of the border resolution Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with Assam.

He said that it is truly a memorable milestone that in the 50 Years of Meghalaya Statehood, the MoU was signed between the Governments of Meghalaya and Assam to resolve the border dispute between the two States, but instead, Dr.Mukul Sangma who is the leader of the TMC staging a ‘dharna’ or protesting infront of the Parliament in Delhi to supposedly demand for the revoke of the MoU is a move which Prestone Tynsong says is perhaps because Dr. Mukul Sangma wants to contest the elections from Assam and no longer from Meghalaya.

Furthermore, Prestone Tynsong said that Dr.Mukul Sangma looks like he no longer wants to have a part in Meghalaya but looks like he wants to become a leader in Assam now. He said that as the Chairman of the Regional Committee for Ri-Bhoi, much deliberations were carried sometimes leading to no rest and no sleep and no one knows that Prestone, Conrad and Himanta would sit till midnight to talk on the border issue, but in the end they know only to say that Prestone and Conrad have sold off the State.
