Government to ensure means of paying SSA teachers’ salaries every 3 months ; Education Commission to be constituted soon

SHILLONG, July 21: The Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Prestone Tynsong said henceforth the Government will create means to ensure regular payment of salaries to the SSA by atleast every 3 months. Prestone Tynsong also expressed this before the leaders of the MSSASA who met him the evening of the 21st after they stayed the nights on the road from Monday.

Speaking with media persons, he said that the meeting was a successful one in which the Government urged the teachers to suspend their agitation as the Government will shell out Rs.122 crores to pay the salaries of the teachers for 4 months.

With regard to the demand to enhance their pay, Tynsong informed that the Government has spoken with the leaders of the SSA, and in order to look into the needs of all the schools , right from the Managing Committees and teachers, the Government has decided to constitute an Education Commission, and this Commission will look into the needs of all the schools.

He said the preparation for the approval of the Commission has been processed forward. He said all the associations of the teachers or managing committees should send their requirements through the Commission which will then be looked into by the Government for necessary action
