SHILLONG,June 01: The MLA of the HSPDP from Mawkyrwat, Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar said that there has been a talk for him to join the UDP in order to contest the Assembly Election in 2023, but he said that till now he is a full-fledged MLA of the HSPDP and he has a goal to strengthen the regional parties, in any which way possible.
He said that the objective to strengthen regional parties is not new, and there will be hope for the people. On being queried, he said that if all the regional parties can be strengthened, it will be for the best, but who knows they may be weakened in the end, and added that it is up to the will of the people which party they choose to strengthen.
On being queried further, Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar said that the reasons for the inability in strengthening the regional parties and their emergence is due to the fact that many groups want to pave a way for themselves to be free. He said that it is very important to have some patience because if there is any flaw or defect or if a small miscommunication occurs, then disputes tend to arise.
