SHILLONG, May 12: The Minister incharge of the Department of Forest and Environment, James P.K.Sangma on the 11th of May visited Mawlai Phudmuri to look into the yearning of the residents to have a Basketball Ground on the site of the Forest Department and also a Health Park.
On this day were also present the locality administrators, the MDC and other senior members of the locality,who all from their end expressed the need of the locality for the youths to spend their time in sports so that they can be free from detrimental habits such as inebriation.
On the same day, the Minister also visited the Dispensary in Mawlai Nonglum which is housed presently in a rented location, for which the locality of Mawlai offered a site of the locality to the Department of Health so that a new building can be constructed on it.
Teibor Pathaw, said that from the very beginning, the locality administrators and himself as a representative have met with the Minister in-charge, and on this day, the Minister personally visited the site with a promise to look into the matter and pursue the request of the locality and the MDC.
