Shillong: Seng Khasi Mylliem, yesterday the 20th of March, 2022 concluded it’s two-day Shad Suk Mynsiem filled profound grace and solemnity with the participation of virgin maidens and strong male dancers from the near and far of Mylliem village.
Speaking on this with media persons, Kong Larisa Kurkalang, Secretary of Seng Khasi Mylliem said that this Shad Suk Mynsiem in Mylliem was first started in the year 2000 and then onward since it was started, this dance of the happy hearts to give thanks and worship the Almighty Creator has been held annually in this village.
The divisin of Seng Khasi Mylliem was first established at the Ground of the “Ïing Syiem” and following this, with the collective hard work of all the members who still practice the indigenous belief, the division of Seng Khasi Mylliem has expanded vastly which till date has upto 12 more subdivisions and soon preparations will be made to open another division of the Seng Khasi in this area.
On the concluding day of the dance, the programme was attended by Rangbah Don Kupar Dkhar, President Seng Khasi Kmie, Mawkhar, Shillong, Rangbah A.S Tariang and Rangbah O.Pyngrope who are the Vice-Presidents along with members of the JPK of the Seng Khasi Kmie, with the Acting Syiem of Hima Mylliem, Pa’iem Ainam Manik Syiem, Ronnie V.Lyngdoh, MDC of Mylliem, office bearers of the division of Seng Khasi Mylliem and the public spectators surrounding the periphery of the dance arena.
The grace and solemnity of the dance was witnessed at the moment when the “ksing lynti” was played melodiously in the accompaniment of the “ksing chaw chaw” and the “tangmuri”, to which the male and female dancers danced to tirelessly with the kissing rays of the setting sun falling on them and the dance arena.
