It is a matter of great pride for the region as a whole as Tei La Rympei Village Organisation of Mawïonglumsyntiew locality in Nongstoiñ, West Khasi Hills District succeeded in constructing an RCC building to house the office of the group of 9 Self Help Groups under the aegis of the Tei La Rympei Village Organisation.
This will go down in the history of the whole of West Khasi Hills District as the first time that such an endeavour has been achieved from amongst the village organisations in the region as till now there has been no village organisation which has been successful in constructing such a building and the building was inaugurated by H.K Thabah, MCS, Addl. Deputy Commissioner of WKHD who also cut the inaugural ribbon and unveiled the foundation stone of the RCC building.
The Government officer on this day was accompanied by Pa’iem Phylla Singh Syiem, Syiem of Hima Nongstoiñ, T.Diengngan, BDO, Nongstoiñ C&RD Block and other officers including also from NRLM.
The brief gathering held at the new building of the group was also attended on this day by the local public of the locality with D.Parïong, Headman of Mawïonglumsyntiew who is also one of the stalwarts involved majorly in making the aim a reality and at the same time is also the Adviser of the aforementioned Village Organisation.
In part to make the whole gathering more lively and festive, dance performances and other entertainment were also presented with P.Syiem conducting the gathering as Chairman with other members of the Dorbar of Mawïonglumsyntiew locality also present.
