Mawkyrwat, January 14: The UHM on the 13th of this month visited an orphaned girl who has allegedly been abandoned by her relatives and in their visit also spoke with the young girl Fulbida Paliar from Mawtaiem village in the Nongnah area of South West Khasi Hills District. The young girl, has informed and sought the assistance of the United Hynñiewtrep Movement (UHM), Nongnah Unit as she is caught in great distress.
The UHM of Nongnah Unit without any delay, on the 13th of January went and inspected the house where the orphaned girl resides and found that the allegation she had made about being chased out from her own house which had also been rendered completely empty as true.
On this day, the UHM of Nongnah Unit also distributed blankets to 16 economically weak households and to persons with disabilities. With regard to the matter of the orphaned girl, the organisation has promised to help her by repairing her house soon.
