Jowai, 14: The Jaiñtia Student Movement (JSM), Western Region today initiated an intervention on the excessive collection of toll fee which had been fixed at ₹30 per commercial vehicle of local citizens but for the past two weeks now, the Toll Gate in Ïalong has been collecting an excess amount of ₹60.
After chaos ensued at the site for a short while during the day,the administrators of the Toll Gate agreed to speak about this matter with the local village administrators of Ïalong village.
It was informed that the excessive collection of toll fee was carried out without a notification from the Deputy Commissioner of West Jaiñtia Hills and if this continues, the organisation will begin with intense agitations.
