HEADLINES

Shillong: Football matches are starting again in the country after the All India Football Federation will start preparing for the Second Division, I. League which will start from the coming month of Oct in Bengaluru.

It is pleasant news to know that among the 10 teams who will compete in the 2nd Div I. League, the Ryntih Sports Club is the only NE team among them and this is also an opportunity to later compete at the I. League.

With regards to this, earlier today, the Ryntih SC has come forward and announced their preparation to the press at the club office.

Wallamkupar Kharpran said that firstly, he would like to give thanks to God, who didn’t abandon them right from the start when the club wanted to compete in this league.

Wallamkupar Kharpran further said that right from the start, the goal of the club to be able to compete in this league was to give the players from the state a platform and through this, to continue opening paths and opportunities for the youth so they can get selected to represent clubs in the Indian Super League and even get selected to represent the country.

In this league, Ryntih is placed in Gr-A along with Rajasthan United FC, Hyderya Sports Kashmit FC, Madan Maharaj FC, FC Bengaluru United and groups in Gr-B includes Corbett FC, Kenkre Sports, ARA FC, Kerala United FC, Delhi FC.

Ryntih SC which is one of the football clubs of the state and of the NE who will be competing at the Second Division I. League which will consist of 10 teams, is currently being sponsored by a few sports-enthusiasts, said Wallamkupar Kharpran on speaking with the press at the club office earlier today.

In this press meeting, Samborlang Diengdoh was also present. He is one of the team supporters and sponsorship advisor of the Ryntih SC.

For now, in order for Ryntih SC to go forward with competing at this event, it will need a bank guarantee of not less than Rs 25 lakhs which till date, the amount is being contributed by Wanshan Kharkrang along with Infinite Sports Entertainment via the CEO Arki Nongrum.

But the club will continue to require sponsorship whether it’s from companies or even from the state government and the club will continue working hard to get sponsorship.

Samborlang Diengdoh took this opportunity to request and invite businesses, companies and individual businessmen to come forward and help the club right now because the opportunity of Ryntih SC to compete at this event has once again put the state in the football map of the country.

Samborlang further added that just as it was done in Mizoram and Manipur, the Meghalaya government too should come forward and help Ryntih in times like these while also giving an example with Aizawl FC, Neroca and even TRAU which the Mizoram and Manipur government came forward and helped these clubs when they were competing in events like this.

But the club wanted to give thanks to the MLA of East Shillong Constituency, Dr M. Ampareen Lyngdoh who has contributed Rs 1 lakh to the club.
