Tourist spots and schools can close for now, if they don’t feel safe yet, said the CM

Shillong, Sept 03: The state Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma has said that the government has given the respective administrations the liberty to decide whether schools and tourist spots can open or not after the announcement that educational institutions and tourist spots can re-open again from the 1st of this month.

On answering about the demand by the local administration of Sohra to have a tourist checkpoint Conrad said the local administration has the liberty to decide the rules and if they do not feel safe yet, they can close the tourist spots for now.

On the other hands, the Chief Minister said that after the government has carefully judged the covid-19 situation in the state, there has been a massive decline in the number of new cases as compared to last week and due to this, the government has decided to start opening more establishments which will be announced by the Deputy Commissioners from time to time along with the protocols.
