Nongpoh, November 1: With the upcoming MDC elections drawing closer, the Congress Party has strengthened its presence in the Nongpoh constituency. In a significant boost, three prominent leaders from the Nongpoh Block of the National People’s Party (NPP), along with hundreds of supporters, officially joined the Congress in a special gathering held today in Nongpoh.
The three leaders—Bah Minsing Makri, NPP Nongpoh Block Adviser; Bah Stoin R Syngkli, Working President of NPP Nongpoh Block; and Bah Lawrence Nongrum, former NPP Secretary—were warmly welcomed by Bah MG Kharshanlor, President of the Ri Bhoi District Congress Committee (RBDCC). The induction ceremony saw the presence of other Congress leaders, including Kong Joplin Scott Shylla, President of the Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee; Bah Rocky Marwein, Vice President of Umsning BCC; Bah S W Mallai, President of NBCC; and Bah D Kharshandi, General Secretary NBCC.
Beyond the three leaders, the Congress also welcomed over a hundred NPP supporters from various villages, further consolidating its support base in Nongpoh.
Congress leaders expressed their satisfaction at the arrival of experienced political figures and dedicated supporters into the party. They emphasized that the Congress welcomes all members without division and is committed to unity, inviting the new members to work together to strengthen the party’s foundation in the constituency.
