NPP legislator Ampareen Lyngdoh remarked that she is neither a soothsayer nor a pundit, emphasising that election outcomes ultimately depend on the performance of the player.
Speaking on the preparations for the upcoming MDC elections, Ampareen stated that success hinges on a candidate’s ability to play their role effectively.
Acknowledging the challenges in politics, she noted that while criticism is inevitable, this marks a new era for leaders to prove themselves through their work.
However, Ampareen expressed disappointment over the 2023 elections, where she felt voters were misled by emotions rather than considering the contributions of leaders.
Reflecting on the unpredictability of the political landscape, the MLA praised the current leadership of the Chief minister, calling him “humble and approachable.” She highlighted several achievements of the NPP-led government in Meghalaya, particularly addressing long-pending issues and bringing innovative changes to the state.
Ampareen added that the NPP represents the aspirations of the North East and is committed to ensuring the region’s voice is heard across India.
