In a disturbing incident, the body of a man was found hanging near a State Bank of India ATM at Laimer in Upper Shillong on Thursday morning.
According to reports, the body was first discovered by bank staff responsible for opening and closing the ATM. Police were informed and reached the spot around 7 AM to take stock of the situation.
Authorities said the identity of the deceased is yet to be established, and further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The body is expected to be shifted for post-mortem examination as part of the ongoing inquiry.
