The Government of Meghalaya held a high-level capacity-building workshop at the State Convention Centre to strengthen implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through data-driven governance, outcome-based budgeting and district-level convergence.
Organised by the Planning, Investment Promotion and Sustainable Development Department in collaboration with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, the workshop brought together key stakeholders to align SDG implementation with state development priorities.
Addressing the session, Vijay Kumar D highlighted initiatives such as SDG cells, District Research Fellows and the CM Catalytic Fund to improve outcomes. Officials reiterated Meghalaya’s goal of becoming a top 10 SDG-performing state by 2030.
The workshop focused on district data systems, SDG-linked budgeting, green jobs, monitoring tools and evidence-based planning, with East Khasi Hills recognised as a leading district performer.
