Shillong: Chief Minister and National People’s Party (NPP) president Conrad K Sangma has announced that three members of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) belonging to the Trinamool Congress (TMC) will join the NPP on November 4.
Sangma confirmed the development while responding to queries from reporters on Monday, but ruled out the possibility of any TMC MLAs joining the NPP.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that, apart from the three MDCs, former MLAs and former Congress leaders from Garo Hills are also expected to join the ruling party.
