The Sngap Syiem College, Mawkyrwat, South West Khasi Hills District, held its Graduation Day 2025 to felicitate 152 students who successfully completed their degrees in Arts, Commerce and Science under North Eastern Hill University (NEHU).
The event was graced by Shri Satinder Kumar Bhalla, ITS, Secretary, North Eastern Council (NEC), Government of India, as the Chief Guest. Also present were Dr. K.K. Nongsiej, Principal of the college, Kong J. Kharshiing, Adviser (Planning) NEC, and Bah Jeo Syiem, In-charge Tourism Sector NEC, along with faculty members, parents and guardians.
In his address, Shri Bhalla expressed happiness at being part of the celebration in a college named after Sngap Syiem, the freedom fighter who fought valiantly for self-rule. He lauded the institution for carrying forward his legacy of courage and resilience and encouraged the graduates to remain determined and committed in pursuing their goals. He urged the students to be firm in their aspirations and to contribute positively to society.
The occasion was marked with joy and pride as the graduates received recognition for their hard work and success, bringing laurels to the institution and the district.
