The Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Prestone Tynsong said that the allegations made by the leader of the Opposition, Dr.Mukul Sangma is very much untrue because all transit passes and transit challans have been issued.
Furthermore, he said that at present, coal is imported from Bhutan and Meghalaya is a transit way, to and from West Bengal and it is upto the traders which route they choose to ply through and at which place they want their coal load to be weighed.
Apart from this, Tynsong said that it is impossible that the coal loads transported are mined and illegally traded from Meghalaya, as these coal loads come from other parts of the State and if there is any coal available to be traded from the State, recognition is required from the Government first and it is the duty of the Government to find out the facts while also adding that only 5% of the allegations are true while 95% of the allegations are untrue.
