Shillong: Police on Friday seized five air guns from a luxury vehicle in the city, suspected to be part of a convoy owned by a wealthy businessman.
Sources revealed that the arms were allegedly kept to intimidate the public, with the vehicles even fitted with sirens to mimic official security convoys.
Among the vehicles seized were a red Audi and a black Scorpio, police confirmed. The incident has raised serious concerns about the misuse of weapons and impersonation of security forces.
An investigation is currently underway to identify the owner and trace the purpose of the firearms.
