Public Health Engineering (PHE) Minister, Shri Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar has said that the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) will require more financial input besides the one already alloted by the Centre in order to provide drinking to more villages in the State. He stated this in a meeting with mediapersons after attending a conference with Gajendra Shekhawat, Union Minister in Guwahati,Assam.
Renikton said that the State government has requested the Centre to sanction more funds so that the department can move forward with the Jal Jeevan Skhim(JJM) in villages as the money already sanctioned by the Ministry is not sufficient to complete the task.
Shri Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar expressed this concern to Union Minister, Gajendra Shekhawat in a meeting with him and other PHE Ministers from the North-eastern states on the 16th of September in Guwahati.
