Today, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Christmas in the capital, New Delhi, alongside bishops and other Christian religious leaders. The event was organized by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.
During his speech at the Christmas celebration, Modi stated that Christmas represents the message of love, unity, and harmony among people of all faiths. He expressed his sorrow over the attacks on places of worship, referring to the recent bombing of churches in Sri Lanka. Modi emphasized that Christmas celebrations are especially significant for remembering the Christian faith and the teachings of the Bible, which offer hope and peace.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the collaborative efforts for the country’s progress, stressing that working together for the nation’s development is essential for its future.
