Shillong: Jowai MLA Wailadmiki Shylla expressed deep gratitude on assuming office as a cabinet minister for the first time.
Sworn in today along with other ministers, Shylla told reporters that the public’s expectation has always been that once elected as an MLA, one should also serve as a minister in the government.
He thanked Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma for giving him the opportunity to serve in the cabinet and affirmed his commitment to focus especially on addressing the challenges faced by the youth.
Shylla also announced that he will donate his first salary as a minister to seven orphanages in West Jaiñtia Hills District.
