Shillong: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is probing the murder of seven-year-old Kynshanbor Kharmyndai, who went missing from Nongrah on Tuesday and was found dead at Mawpat on Thursday morning.
Authorities are questioning multiple suspects and investigating potential motives, including ransom or sexual assault, although preliminary reports have not confirmed any sexual assault.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Vivek Syiem, stated that Kynshanbor’s body bore multiple injuries, some inflicted before death and others postmortem, likely caused by prolonged exposure to the elements.
Officials are awaiting the full post-mortem report to determine the exact cause of death and to gain a clearer understanding of the circumstances surrounding the young boy’s murder.
