Shillong: Mukroh is within the possession of the State of Meghalaya, respond Meghalaya Deputy CM Prestone Tyngsong on the statement made by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma in the Assam Legislative Assembly session on Monday.
CM Sarma replying to an unstarred question put up by BJP MLA Bidyasing Engleng stating that Mukroh is within the boundary of Assam and falls under West Karbi Anglong district.
However in many occasions, the Assam CM always stated that Mukroh is under the jurisdiction of the State of Meghalaya.
Mentionably, on November 22, 6 people were killed in firing by Assam Police of which 5 were from Meghalaya and one was Assam Forest guard.
“Our stands is clear, Mukroh is well within the State of Meghalaya. It is very clear, till this moment it is under the procession of Meghalaya”, react Dy CM Prestone on the statement made by the Assam CM.
“I personally feel, he shouldn’t say that it is very unfortunate. I don’t know why he (Himata) made such statement since we are not under the process of stepping in the second phase of border talk”, added the Deputy CM.
On asked when will the second phase of the border talk between the two states will begin, Tyngsong said that the second phase will start very soon, and the government is working out.
“We will work out; our priority has to be initiated now. We have already made it very clear to the people of the State that the second phase of the border talk will start very soon, so we will work it out accordingly”, further added the Dy CM Prestone Tyngsong.
