Shillong: The Home Minister of Meghalaya, Lahkmen Rymbui said that once the roster system is in order, the results for the jobs in the police department, which has been demanded by the many youths who appeared in the job examinations, will be soon declared.
Speaking with media persons, Lahkmen Rymbui said that as he had said every time, the Government wants to fill all vacant posts in the police department of the State on the basis and importance of the law and order or safety and security of the State as a whole.
On this basis in 2019, the Government came forward to advertise the many vacant posts in the police department of the State. However, as the processes were moving forward, the sudden onslaught of Covid-19 pandemic stopped the physical efficiency test and examinations from moving forward.
However, Rymbui said that he is happy to inform that last year, the written tests for these vacant posts which were yet unfilled were completed apart from a few and the results for those where written tests had been completed are ready and are only awaiting declaration.
But Lahkmen Rymbui said that as he had already explained in the Autumn Session of the Legislative Assembly, other legal matters arose which prompted the department to study and read the fine print of the provisions of the law especially pertaining to the roster system, which is one of the major work requiring orderly resolution and soon the department will send its report to the Government and the Government will sit and deliberate and do what is needed to be done.
