Mawkyrwat, September 02: The Synjuk Seng Samla Shnong of Warsan Lyngdoh has expressed great anger over the arrogant attitude of the company tasked to construct the intermediate road Nongstoiñ Wahkaji. From the time the company began excavation for the purpose of the construction, many vehicles from Warsan Lyngdoh, Phlangdiloin, Mariem areas have been facing major difficulties in passing through the road with many vehicles getting stuck and are eventually freed by people pushing the vehicles. The people have to fill stones on the road and many vehicle owners have to stay overnight on the road and have to be dragged on to move ahead with the help of other vehicles. The construction of the road without taking into consideration the people who use the road everyday by the company has caused a lot of problems for the public commuting through this road especially those in ill health and pregnant women. The worst part of the road is on the stretch from Demnar, Mariem to Lum Kyllai Longsngun.
The Synjuk has requested the company, the PWD and the DC of South West Khasi Hills District to intervene in this matter to ensure the problems faced by the public residents of Warsan Lyngdoh are alleviated sooner.
The Synjuk has also given a warning that if the authorities concerned do not pay heed to the matter soon, they will have to resort to other means to hold agitations. This is as per the statement sent by Thrangbor Wanniang, GS, SSSS Warsan Lyngdoh and Sandy Myrthong, President.
