Nongpoh, August 27: In part to further motivate and encourage the students to continue working hard in their different fields of studies, the Federation of Khasi Jaiñtia and Garo People, North Khasi Hills District felicitated 29 youths who secured more than 80% in their SSLC and HSSLC examinations in the year 2021-2022.
On this special day, 29 students attended the programme to receive their awards along with their family members, also in the presence of Luistar Lyngdoh, President of the FKJGP, NKHD, Lumlang Mawnai, Senior Vice President of the FKJGP, NKHD, Pynshai Kharbani, Education Secretary,FKJGP Central body.
The leaders of the FKJGP on this day also expressed their sorrow at the untimely death of one of the students from amongst the 29 who was also to recieve the award named Steffini Lyngdoh. The mother of Late Steffini Lyngdoh received the award on her daughter’s behalf filled with sorrowful tears. On this day, the FKJGP also sent words of condolences to the family along with prayers that God may console the family.
The speakers on this day expressed pride at seeing many youths who are educated and also secured high percentage in their results. Furthermore, they said that the goal in giving awards for good results is in part to motivate the students to continue working harder in their higher studies. They also expressed that seeing the youths doing well and securing high percentage in their results in these years, the country and the community has a hope of seeing the youths going to the level of IAS, IPS officers and other higher positions.
