SHILLONG, August 08: The leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Meghalaya, Alexander Laloo Hek said that it is a fact that the 2 MLAs who had won on a Congress ticket in 2018 have been in talks to contest the upcoming election from the BJP.
This was stated by Hek when responding on the plans of Mohendro Rapsang, MLA of West Shillong and Himalaya M.Shangpliang, MLA of Mawsynram. As per the statement of Hek, it is a fact that there had been negotiations with the 2 MLAs to join the BJP, however, till date the talks are continuing even though they seem to favour becoming a part of the BJP.
On being queried about other representatives, the leader of the BJP said that it is not only the sitting MLAs who intend to join the BJP but former MLAs and other prominent persons have also expressed their wish to join the BJP.
He further stated that the BJP has about 30-40 candidates at present and all of them will win and at any rate if the winning chance falls too, it is sure that 10 will definitely win.
