Nongpoh, July 29: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today the 29th of July welcomed Cleophas Tre Nongrum along with his supporters who joined the BJP and readily gave their support to the party for the upcoming Assembly Election in 2023 in a meeting held at Nongpoh Umbuda.
The leaders and supporters in politics were welcomed to the BJP by Ernest Mawrie, President of the BJP in Meghalaya who’s was also the Chief Guest of the programme in the presence also of Tory Kharsati, President of the BJP, East Khasi Hills District, Pynskhem Swet, President of the BJP in Ri-Bhoi District and E.Malong, Vice President of the BJP in Ri-Bhoi District.
At the programme held to welcome the leaders and supporters, the name of Cleophas Tre Nongrum was also announced as the Aspirant Candidate of the BJP from Nongpoh Constituency.
Ernest Mawrie expressed his gratitude to the supporters who newly joined the party at the right time, furthermore he also encouraged Tre Nongrum as the Aspirant Candidate to continue working hard to gather the people of Nongpoh constituency before entering the election battlefield.
Furthermore Mawrie urged the supporters to not fall prey to candidates who only intend to carry out businesses or buy the votes but to be wise and see ahead so that the wealth of the businessmen cannot buy the votes of the voters, said Mawrie.
