HEADLINES

SHILLONG, July 26: Former MLA of Mawphlang who is also a forefront leader of the Indian National Congress in Meghalaya, Kennedy C Khyriem said if he stayed alone he shall get no where, therefore he decided to go along with the 80% of the people who want him to join the National People’s Party (NPP).

He said if he remained with the Congress he would have been stuck with the 9000 voters but now by joining the NPP he is hopeful especially with the support of the MDC.

Furthermore he said that he entered politics with the Congress party however his exit is to do better in politics. He also said in 2018 the Congress had 21 MLAs but now has zero MLAs, and that is one of the reasons which made the supporters think that if only 3 or 4 seats are won by the party they shall not be able to make any difference.
