SHILLONG, July 25: The Meghalaya Assembly Committee on Empowerment of Women (MACEW) has informed that the police have strengthened the case against the father who murdered his children on the night of the 30th of May this year in Nongrah, East Khasi Hills District.
The Chairperson of MACEW, Dr.M.Ampareen Lyngdoh said the Committee has followed up the case closely in which today they received information from the police that they have ensured to strengthened the case against the father and there is no doubt that the culprit involved in killing the children will be sentenced accordingly.
At the same time the Chairperson informed that the Social Welfare department has informed the Committee that they have processed all the necessary requirements to send the ex-gratia amount to the family of the children which is Rs.5 lakhs which has to be sent within 10 days.
