SHILLONG, June 29 : The former MLA of Sohïong, HDR Lyngdoh has confessed that differences of opinions in the family led to his defeat in the Assembly Election of 2018. This was publicly acknowledged by HDR at a meeting held in Sohïong where alongside his family and supporters he formally joined the United Democratic Party.
He said that at that time his youngest sister and his nephew worked against him and this was the root cause leading to his defeat. He informed that after there had been requests made from several sides to bring back unity and understanding in the family.
On this day the MLA officially joined the UDP to prepare for the Assembly Election of 2023 where his youngest sister was also present whose eyes were filled with happy tears, his nephew and other family members who stood beside him on the same platform for the world to see the unity of the family and to stand for the people.
