Education is one of the most important point for parents in their children’s upbringing especially in this generation, however when poverty suddenly envelopes a household of a woman named Bibiana Khardewsaw, she had to stop sending her children to school driven by extreme poverty.
It is said that poverty struck her more harshly after her husband named Wasstar Lyngkhoi was diagnosed with throat cancer about 2 years ago, and besides the already life threatening disease that he has been suffering from, he has now contracted another ailment which cannot be ascertained yet what it may be, because the husband has been extremely weakened while bedridden and cannot go and labour for wages due to his weak body and nerve pains on his feet and legs.
The household is from Domkohsam, a village in Nongstoiñ area,West Khasi Hills District and in the village there is only one school set up the Catholic Church.
The family does truly look like it has been forsaken and in their meeting with t7, the mother of the house said that she would be very grateful if there is anyone who can provide her husband with medicines also which will be very much like a blessing because she wants her husband to get better and she believes that every need in her house will get better if he gets better.
