SHILLONG, June 25: The Minister incharge of the Home Department, Lahkmen Rymbui has strongly condemned the assault on students from Kerala yesterday and said that the police are looking for people involved in the incident after an FIR was filed on the incident.
Rymbui said that such incidents which bring about hatred cannot be condoned.
He said that the police department are doing the needful and also expressed hope that within 48 hours the culprits will be arrested.
On the other hand, the Director General of Police (DGP), Dr.Lajja R.Bishnoi also said that the police are pursuing this matter and have also gone through the images on the CCTV installed at the location of incident to find the people involved.
The DGP has also urged the youths or any individual to avoid such actions that can result in chaos, and added that if there is anything that they do not agree to or want to express, the police department is ready to listen and discuss the matter cordially.
