SHILLONG, June 24: 2 students from Kerala were assaulted without any known reason by a few unidentified persons in the Jaiaw area.This incident occurred today with the miscreants arriving on two-wheelers and in a agitating manner shouted at the two students while approaching towards them in a position to hit them with their helmets.
The two students are identified as Rejaz M.Sydeek and Sarath S.Thambi, currently studying for their Masters Degree in the Department of Social Work in Kerala Central University and they have come to the Shillong to complete their Internship.
Rejaz M.Sydeek informed that after they had their lunch in a shop in Jaiaw, suddenly 13 people came approaching towards them and hit his friend with helmets, but at that time the people around and from the shops nearby came to their help and saved the two from any injuries, and after this the police were notified and promptly the police came and fetched the two and took them to Lumdiengjri Police Station. An FIR has also been filed by the two students on the incident.
