Shillong: Like other Ministers in the MDA Government, Banteidor Lyngdoh is also one of the Ministers in the Government who is criticised by the majority of the public and the criticisms have also gone viral on social media with many of his utterances and actions being turned into memes.
However, when speaking with t7 news, Banteidor Lyngdoh while quite amused said that there have been instances that the critics have set foot at his house or his office to ask or cajole for means of help from him.
Furthermore, he also said that public service is not at all free from criticisms which is always there, but from his end as Minister incharge of the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, his task is to try and do the best for the sportspersons as well as for the citizens.
Apart from that, he also said that if there are no critics, then he too will not be able to correct his mistakes and also said again that he profits from their criticisms.
Touching on the topic of his report card, since he took over as a Sports Minister of the State and the promises he made at every gathering he was a part of, Banteidor Lyngdoh said that at present he does not feel any need to expound or talk about the works he has been able to complete while reminding again about the response he had given on the day when the election results were announced and also said that in the past few years he is happy to say that many changes have been seen in the J.N Complex, Indoor Sports Hall, P.A.Sangma Stadium, Football Ground in Chandmari, Tura.
However, Lyngdoh reminded that what is important when all requirements are fulfilled is to produce sportspersons, but he said that the journey has not been easy especially in the five years when during the journey, many changes were seen especially in reviving the Meghalaya Games at this juncture when he is the Minister and also towards the intention to organise the North-East Olympics Games in October-November this year.
