SHILLONG, May 14: The United Democratic Party (UDP) said that the Government must make public the enquiry report on the corruption allegations in the Power Department.
The General Secretary of the UDP, Dr.Jemino Mawthoh said that the party from the beginning has not kept silent about allegations, and till now the party is following up on them. He said that the Government must make the enquiry report public so that the people will get a clarification.
In connection with the implementation of the smart meters, he said that the party has already sent up to 12 points of discussion on this matter to the Chief Minister because the public have not yet quite understood the idea of smart meters.
The leader of the UDP said that the party is strongly against and will not accept any form of corruption, and added that the party from the beginning has not remained quiet over allegations against the Government. He said that the people should also understand the limit of the UDP in raising its voice or shouting when in a house of 60 members, the party has only 6 MLAs.
