[11:01 pm, 12/05/2022] Bibz: The Joint Action Committee Border of Meghalaya (JACBOM) ,a collective of different groups in the interstate border, today organised a meeting with the local chiefs with regards to the different matters pertaining to the interstate border areas which was held in Shillong Club.

Speaking with media persons after the meeting, Erwin K.Syiem Sutnga, the Chairman of JACBOM informed that in this meeting, JACBOM resolved to not rest at all on the matter pertaining to the loss of areas in the the interstate border areas between Meghalaya and Assam, and even areas lost to Bangladesh which are currently under litigation in the Supreme Court, will be revived again.

He also informed that the Government needs to understand that as the people who voted the Government into power, they are dissatisfied with the actions of the Government over the MoU, therefore the Government must get a taste of intense protests to strongly oppose the Government after it discarded the suggestions of the people and oppressed the rights of the people and soon agitations will be announced.

Furthermore, JACBOM demanded the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Kongkal Sangma to step down as the Chief Minister of Meghalaya after he himself showed that he had lost his way in leading Meghalaya following the signing of the MoU which has landed the residents of the interstate border areas in a lot of problems, and thus JACBOM will approach the Court to file a petition on this matter.
