FASToM decides to suspend agitations and rejoin duty after CM promises to do something within a month

SHILLONG, May 12: The adhoc teachers under the banner of the Federation of All School Teachers of Meghalaya (FASTOM), decided to suspend their agitation and rejoin duty after they met with the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K.Sangma who sought a month’s time to do something in order to meet their demands.

Yesterday, the adhoc school teachers announced an indefinite sit-in protest to begin from the 12th of May, with hundreds of teachers gathering around the Secretariat, along with the security personnel.

After this announcement whereby the teachers also threatened to stay the night if the Government does not fulfill their demand, the Additional Chief Secretary incharge of the Department of Education called the leaders of FASTOM for a meeting, after which he also led them to meet the Chief Minister.
