SHILLONG, April 25: Vincent H.Pala who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) in the Lok Sabha who is also the President of Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), said that the news about him returning to state politics is not at all a rumour, but a truth, and he will be contesting from Sutnga Saipung constituency.
Sutnga Saipung constituency is presently represented by Shitlang Pale who had won from the Congress in 2018 but has now merged with the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) along with 11 other MLAs of the Congress in the past few months. In 2018, the Congress won only from this constituency from the 7 constituencies in Jaiñtia Hills.
Speaking with Pala, he said that for the Sutnga Saipung constituency, there are already 4-5 people interested, however, a majority of the supporters have forced him to contest in the election himself. He said that he has to force and cajole others to contest the election, so why should he shy away from it, but he also said that the final decision will be taken after the party meeting.
