Mawkyrwat, April 21: Banteidor Lyngdoh who is the Minister incharge of the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs in the State Government, today inaugurated the Spring Festival Football Tournament 2022 at Saitsnad Ground, Mawlangwir, South West Khasi Hills District in the presence also of the MLA of Mawkyrwat, Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar who was the Guest of Honour on this day.
On this day, the opening match was held between Se-la-jong Football Team and Rangdajong Sports Club in which Rangdajong SC won by 3-1 goals.
In the first half of the match, the first goal was scored by Se-la-jong FT through Habamut Nongrum at the 16th minute, while Rangdajong SC scored a goal at the 41st minute through Shainborlang Khardewsaw and at the 44th minute through Silvester Syiemlieh.
In the second half of the match, Rangdajong SC scored the third goal at the 46th minute, just as the match started, through Ïaidborlang Thongni.
The dignitaries present on this day included the District Sports Officer of South West Khasi Hills District,Shri. D.Syngkon, retired SDO of Ranikor Civil Sub-Division,Shri.H.S.Diengdoh,MCS, Shri.Sounder Cajee, the Myntri of Mawlangwir village, Shri. N.S Wanñiang, office bearers of Mawlangwir Sports Club and other senior members of the village and area. The day was made more entertaining through the Ïonglajong Musical & Cultural Organisation and also with traditional dances from Ri Maram Folk Academy.
