Damewanhi L.Rymbai comes forward to donate his abandoned coalmine to be used as a dumping ground for the uncleared piled up garbage in Jowai

Jowai: Damewanhi L. Rymbai from Moolamylliang, East Jaiñtia Hills District and who is also the Assistant Waheh Shnong of the Moolamylliang village, today came forward with a sympathetic heart to the problems faced by the public in connection with the uncleared piled up garbage in Jowai and readily offered one of his plots which is an abandoned coalmine as a dumping ground for the Jowai Municipal Board (JMB) so that it can clear the piled up garbage from Jowai which have been left untouched for many many days.

Rymbai said that his wish to close up the abandoned mine has been made known to the whole village and he also said that his village is also one that has received the Modern Village award. He said that he and the village will allow the dumping of solid waste in the mine which is about 200 feet deep within a month and after that the mine will be sealed off, and to facilitate this task, an agreement was also signed today the 20th of April,2022 in the Office of the Deputy Commissioner,West Jaiñtia Hills District.

With regard to the benevolent gesture of this gentleman, H.H.Mohrmen, a prominent figure of Jowai, praised the gesture of Rymbai which he has done not for any personal benefit but to relieve the people of their problems, and especially so that cleanliness and sanitation may prevail in the city and surrounding areas.
