SHAD SUK MYNSIEM OF SWKHD AT JAKREM VILLAGE ENDS WITH MUCH GRACE AND VIBRANCE

Mawkyrwat, April 18: The Seng Khasi South West Khasi Hills District today the 18th of April,2022 brought to a close and folded the flag Shad Suk Mynsiem which began on the 17th of April and which was concluded today at Jakrem village, South West Khasi Hills District.

Seng Khasi South West Khasi Hills amidst much grace and vibrance today brought to an end the Shad Suk Mynsiem in which about 230 female and male dancers participated and many people who came to watch the dance held annually in Jakrem village, South West Khasi Hills District.

Seng Khasi South West Khasi Hills District on the 17th of this month which is the first day of the Shad Suk Mynsiem inaugurated and unfurled the flag at the office of the Seng Khasi in Mawkyrwat at 11:30 AM by the Vice President of Seng Khasi,South West Khasi Hills District, Their Wartde in the presence of the ‘riew tymmen riewsan’ of Seng Khasi South West Khasi Hills District which is under the leadership of T.Kharlyngdoh, President,Seng Khasi South West Khasi Hills District with prayers offered as well as the flag unfurled at 2:00 PM prior to the start of the Shad Nohkjat in which the youths of Seng Khasi Jakrem and others participated.

On the last day of the Shad Suk Mynsiem of Seng Khasi South West Khasi Hills District (SKSWKHD),the flag was lowered down by the President of Seng Khasi, Central Body, D.K Dkhar, and at the same time also delivered words of gratitude and blessings to the Seng Khasi South West Khasi Hills District that it may grow and move forward to preserve the tradition and culture of the Khasis and that it may grow vibrantly and far from year to another.

Speaking on the final day, D.K Dkhar, President of Seng Khasi Seng Kmie expressed his gratitude firstly to God Almighty and the God of Nature for accepting the celebratory dance gracefully along with Mother Nature, the Queen of Nature who made the dance of the Khasis held annually as part of giving thanks to the blessings of God even more lively and vibrant. “This is a happy dance which has been passed on to us from our ancestors and let us all respect it for the sake of those who started and brought to life this dance and celebration.” Let the youthful female and male of the community come forward in more numbers to participate in this Shad Suk Mynsiem and may it continue to be more vibrant than it has been this year.

On this day were also present Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar,MLA of Mawkyrwat who is also the Minister incharge of the PHE Department in the State Government, Carnes Sohshang,MDC of Mawkyrwat constituency, government officers from different departments of South West Khasi Hills District, senior members of society, the dancers, the musicians and also the public who came to watch the closing day of the Shad Suk Mynsiem of South West Khasi Hills District.
