Jowai: The tournament known as the 9th U Kiang Nangbah Inter-Office Badminton and Carrom Board Tournament conducted by the Meghalaya State Government Employees Federation (MSGEF) Jaiñtia Hills Unit began from the 11th of April and ended on the evening of the 14th of April,2022. The tournament was held at the Indoor Hall of Seiñraij Jowai at Tpep-Pale, while Carrom Board was held at the Office of the Department which is in the Deputy Commissione’s Office in Jowai.
The Chief Guest on the final day of the tournament was D.Pyrbot, District Agriculture Officer(DAO), West Jaiñtia Hills District in the presence also of District Sports Officer,WJHD, Secretary (MSGEF) Jaiñtia Hills Unit,T.Laloo, Dr.I Kjam and other senior members. Pyrbot paused the Federation for organising this important tournament for the government employees.
In the Badminton Men’s Single category of the tournament, the Office of the DM& HO,represented by Dr.Peterson L.Lamare won against the Office of the PWD represented by Dauru Laloo by 16-21,21-10,21-17.
In the Badminton Men’s Double category, the PHE Department, represented by Inar Kyndiah and Roskil Challam won against the Office of the DM& HO represented by Dr.Peterson L.Lamare and Rimilan Passah by 21-19,16-12,21-17.
While in the Carrom Board Men’s Double category, Kiang Nangbah Government College,Jowai represented by Satisfyme Dkhar and Bashanbor Dkhar won against the Office of the DIPR represented by Holywell Dhar and George Hamilton Kungle.
